“The Garden is the most special place in my life, and it has shaped me into the person that I am today.” - Kristi, BBG Garden Apprentice, age 17
In 2014, Brooklyn Botanic Garden marks the centennial of its pioneering Children’s Garden. BBG was the first botanic garden to create a program exclusively for children—where toddlers to teens are participants, not just spectators, in community horticulture, plant science, and healthy eating. BBG education programs serve over 150,000 kids, educators, and caregivers annually. The deep lessons each child learns through the education programs at BBG last throughout the year and often throughout a lifetime. They offer an appreciation of nature and our connections to it, the joys of curiosity and exploration, and the value of working together as a community. Your BBG donation today is an active investment in children’s lives—and in the life and health of neighborhoods citywide.
Won’t you help kids growing up in the city continue to step outside, enjoy the sunshine, and most important, have access to BBG’s world-class environmental education programs by giving a gift of $100 or more today?
